Thanks But No Thanks

Between 2008 and 2012 I wrote screenplays. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I loved movies, the band I was in had ended and I needed a creative outlet. I had written my whole life, and I’m arrogant/ignorant enough to think I can just start new creative endeavors and figure it out along the way.

Over the course of about five years, I wrote a bunch of full length screenplays, a short and a tv pilot. I listened to screenwriting podcasts, read a whole bunch of screenwriting books, submitted to contests, sought feedback on various screenwriting websites like Trigger Street Labs (R.I.P.), read industry websites, devoured any produced screenplay I could get my hands on, and generally ate, slept and breathed movies and writing for five years.

At some point in late 2010, I got interested in writing the Power Ballad book, which started in 2011. I also started the Dig Me Out Podcast with my friend Jason, and screenwriting took a back seat. These two volumes of Thanks But No Thanks compile all of my screenwriting, interested but flawed as it may be.
