A new stop on the search for the best reuben in Columbus. The Brazenhead I visited is the Dublin location.
The scorecard:
Corned beef – warm and juicy
Sauerkraut – none, spicy cole slaw instead
Swiss cheese – none
Thousand Island – none, Irish sauce instead
Rye Bread – good
As you can read Brazenhead doesn’t make a traditional reuben with sauerkraut, swiss and thousand island dressing. In fact, their reuben is more like a Rachel, which substitutes pastrami for the corned beef and cole slaw for the sauerkraut.
So, for a traditional reuben, the sandwich fails. But if you’re looking for something reuben-esque, maybe you don’t dig sauerkraut, this sandwich is pretty tasty, especially the spicy slaw.
