Goodbye to Dick

Bills HC Dick Jauron got the boot today. Thank-freaking-God. In reality, this should be the first of many firings, either during the season or after it ends. Front office failures Russ Brandon, Tom Modrak and John Guy have all left their imprint on this team, and it’s not good.

A decade of no playoff games.

Think about that. After a decade of four SUPER BOWL appearances and several other visits to the post-season, the Bills have o-fer for the playoffs in the double oughts.

The sad thing is, there are several talented, even Pro-Bowl quality players playing on this team. The problem is that the ones Dick and crew seemed to want were woefully overmatched and under-skilled.

Here’s my breakdown on the keepers:
WR Lee Evans, RB Marshawn Lynch, RB Fred Jackson, WR Steve Johnson, OG Eric Wood, S Jarius Byrd, CB Terrance McGee, DT Marcus Stroud, LB Kawika Mitchell, CB Reggie Corner, CB Ellis Lankster, DE Aaron Schobel, DT Kyle Williams, K Rian Lindell, OL Andy Levitre, C Geoff Hangartner, P Brian Morman, S George Wilson, TE Shawn Nelson

On the bubble:
LB Paul Poszluzny, CB Ashton Yobouty, CB Drayton Florence, DE Aaron Maybin, DE Ryan Denney, DT Spencer Johnson, FB Corey McIntyre, LB Nic Harris, LB Jon Corto, LS Garrison Sanborn, OT Jonathan Scott, OT Demetrius Bell, OL Seth McKinney, S Donte Witner, S John Wendling, S Bryan Scott, TE Jonathan Stupar, TE Derek Fine, WR Josh Reed, WR James Hardy, OL Brad Butler, CB Leodis McKelvin, TE Derek Shouman, RB Bruce Hall, DB Cary Harris, WR CJ Hawthorne, OL Nick Hennessey, WR Felton Huggins, DT Corey Mace, OL Andre Ramsey, LB Anthony Waters

Please leave: DB Todd Johnson, DE Chris Ellis, DE Chris Kelsay, DT John McCargo, LB Ashlee Palmer, LB Keith Ellison, LB Chris Draft, OL Jamon Meredith, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB Trent Edwards, QB Gibran Hamdan, OT Kirk Chambers, WR Roscoe Parrish, WR Justin Jenkins, LB Marcus Buggs, RB Justise Hairston, DE Jermaine McGhee, C Marvin Philip, DB Lydell Sargeant, DE Marcus Smith

So, basically IMHO, less than a 1/3 of the roster is absolutely worth keeping.
